William McDowell: Closer Wrap Me In Your Arms

Thinking positively/ speaking words of life.

A friend asked me to write about the power of thinking positively. aka Shanice ( For as he thinketh in his heart, so is he. proverbs 23:7)
- I strongly believe in thinking positively, speaking words of life over yourself, surrounding yourself with uplifting individuals and like minded people. Thinking positively can affect us in many different ways. A study was once done, that stated that if a person constantly assured themself that they were capable of doing something and they strongly believed it, they would actually accomplish whatever the task at hand is/was. However, if before they even started and they believed that they were going to fail and told themselves that they would fail then, the chances of them actually failing would be much greater.
“A man is but the product of his thoughts what he thinks, he becomes." As stated by Gandhi whatever you tell yourself or believe you will definitely be the product of that.
-You might have heard the saying "sticks and stones may break my bones but words will never hurt me." In fact that statement is completely inaccurate, yes sticks and stones may break your bones but words can in fact take a tole on you. Words can affect, your mood, self esteem, and even your behavior. For instance, when you look yourself in the mirror and tell yourself how beautiful you are or how much God loves you, you start to feel better about yourself and yourself worth starts to increase. If you tell a child how bad they are or they are going to amount to nothing, those words will marinate in their minds and some of them will become exactly what you say. "The tongue is capable of life and death." proverbs.
So be carefull because what you say to yourself and others can either have a positive or negative affect on them.
